I've been reading about and reading the poets of Augustan Rome for almost two years. Horace writes in Ode 2.1 that the "lightness of the plectrum suits the lightness of the subject". When this track was started it was "light in subject," in the sense of "off the cuff electronic noise". It changed.

"leviore plectro : the lightness of the plectrum [...] suits the lightness of the subject; cf. Ov. met. 10. 152 ‘nunc opus est leviore lyra', Sen. Ag. 334, Stat. silv. 1. 4. 36 'tenuiore', Theb. 10. 446 ‘inferiore’, Sidon. carm. 14. 27 ‘minore plectro'. Contrast 4. 2. 33 'maiore . . . plectro', Ov. met. 10. 150, culex 8 ‘graviore sono’, Sen.
